What we do not do.
This page exists because it saves you time. If your need is listed below, do not write to us: we would say no, and you would have lost a week. If it is not listed, the Estimate page tells you exactly how you get a price, and how long it takes.
The refusals, and the reason for each
4 families of reasons, 14 refusals in all. Each one is written before the sale, not discovered in month three.
What the law rules out
Any promise of a numeric outcome
In Canada, a performance claim requires an adequate and proper test carried out before the claim is made, specific to the scope in question. Our past measurements concern our previous builds, not yours: we cannot promise you a figure in advance, and nobody could honestly do that for us
Guaranteed regulatory compliance, and any legal opinion
We are not lawyers. We deliver the inventory, the documentation and the technical implementation. The opinion is your lawyer's job
An agent that acts without human review on a decision with legal or significant effect on a person
Sections 12.1 and 27 of Quebec's Law 25, obligations under the EU AI Act, and a liability exposure we do not want to transfer to you
Projects on health data, biometrics, or aimed at minors
Until insurance and legal review are in place, the answer is no
Naming a client, publishing a number or showing a logo without written consent
Including yours. That is also what protects your name when you work with us
What our business model rules out
A fixed price without paid scoping first
A blind quote is a planned loss, for you as much as for us
Outcome-based or savings-share pricing
We do not have the cash reserve to insure your risk. The players who work this way collect a heavy implementation fee before taking any risk at all: we do not have that buffer, and telling you otherwise would be a lie about our balance sheet
Open-ended time and materials
A vague scope inflates change orders and poisons the relationship. Fixed price, written scope, change orders priced in advance
Unlimited support
Guaranteed negative margin. Capped and written hours, always
What our capacity cannot hold
24/7 service levels and on-call
We do not run your tool at night and on weekends, and we do not promise to. A one business day response that is honored beats a four-hour promise broken once
A multi-source enterprise document assistant platform
Ten or more sources, single sign-on, per-role permissions document by document: that is measured in quarters, not in weeks. Saying it now beats discovering it in month three
More concurrent builds than our teams can hold
When the book is full, we say so and we push the date. We do not quietly subcontract
What would be of no use to you
Rebuilding what your existing vendor already ships
If the native add-on is enough, we say so and we bill you two days of configuration. A custom build has to justify why the built-in tool is not enough
A project with no access to real data and no available business contact
Without real data and a counterpart, measurement is fiction. Your dependencies are written into the contract, and they suspend the schedule
